Hey friends! I wanted to put together a list of my 10 favorite books that I read last year and share them with you. Read along and decide if you love them as much as I do!
If you love to read, the challenge is always on to find a new book. I’m an avid reader, and try to read at minimum 24 books a year. It’s always helpful to see what other people are reading and what they love. Here are some of my favorites from 2022: (in alphabetical order, there is no way I could rank these any way).

- Atomic Habits by James Clear. In his book about creating good habits and breaking bad ones, James Clear makes it simple for his reader to learn how habits are formed, the best way to create new habits and how to eliminate old habits that are problematic. This book is in my to be read stack every January, there is so much good information packed into these pages.
2. Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate. Lisa Wingate knocked it out of the park with this heartbreaking tale. I don’t want to give anything away, if you haven’t read it yet grab it and enjoy. It’s one that is heartbreaking yet sweet and will stick with you forever.
3. Do You Remember? By Freida McFadden. Freida McFadden has quickly become one of my favorite authors, especially in the genre of psychological thrillers. She has a beautiful, easy to read writing style that will hook you from the first chapter. I haven’t read one by her yet that I was disappointed with.
4. Educated: A Memoir by Tara Westover. In this beautiful memoir, the author recounts overcoming a difficult childhood (extremist mindset) in order to go to college. It’s such a good read and is heartbreaking yet sweet. Give it a try!
5. Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. If you haven’t heard of Colleen Hoover this year, where have you been? She has some crazy good reads – Verity was not my favorite for sure. But, the Hopeless series is my favorite series by her! I could read this one over and over again. There’s a second book in the series called “Losing Hope” that is incredible too.
6. Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier. Here’s a little backstory on this one…. I actually emailed Mary Kubica (my absolute favorite author of all time) and asked her what book she loves and what she would recommend for me to read. She actually emailed me back – how cool is she?!? She recommended this book by Jennifer Hillier and it was SUSPENSEFUL. My hands were sweating as I was reading and I could not put it down. Not for the faint of heart though – that’s for sure.
7. Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica. Have you read anything by Mary Kubica?? She is my favorite author of all time, and I would love to hang out with her. This is another psychological thriller and will haunt you. Read if you dare!
8. The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. This one was recommended by a good friend of mine. I was instantly hooked. It’s a thriller that keeps you guessing until the end.
9. The Surrogate by Freida McFadden I read the Surrogate Mother in less than 24 hours, I couldn’t put it down! Again, Freida McFadden has been added to my list of favorite authors. There are some difficult topics in this one (fertility, adoption).
10. Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. Have you read it yet?? Seen the movie? I love this sweet book! And I’m team ‘read the book before you see the movie.’ Always.
