We are back together for the Whole Home Refresh and have landed on Tuesdays again. Just a reminder that Tuesdays are designated as our dusting day, so gather your supplies and dust as many surfaces of your home as you can in 10-15 minutes. I need to make sure to dust my ceiling fans tomorrow, I don’t know about you but that’s one surface that I almost always forget to dust.
If you’re new to the Whole Home Refresh, start here and then come back to this post.
I use very basic dusting supplies, my favorite is the Swiffer duster kit. It’s well priced and gets the dusting job done well without creating a mess everywhere. For my antiques, I use a soft rag and touch them up with dusting oil. I only do this once a month or if I see a mark that needs to be taken care of.
I hope your daily routine is beginning to feel like a built in habit. For the daily routine, remember at night you will need to sweep your kitchen floors, clean your sink, load and run the dishwasher and put a load of laundry in the washing machine. In the morning, while your coffee is brewing, flip the laundry from the washer to the dryer & complete the load all the way through to putting everything away, and unload the dishwasher and enjoy your day.
Take 17 items out of your house today!! I know 17 is a huge, daunting number. I want to encourage you to find those 17 items – check your car, under the car seats, in the dash, in the center console, check carseats and back hatches. Get that clutter and trash out of your life!
Advanced refresh: focus on the main bathroom. Empty and purge dated items in the cabinets and linen closet. Scrub your sinks and mirrors and all cabinet faces. Deep clean the shower and wipe down walls.
